Determined to Drop the Weight

Two months ago my third son Joshua David was born.

Two weeks ago I was cleared to begin exercising again and I joined Weight Wathchers

Today-I have to find the determination to lose 51 lbs.

Today I ate things that I shouldn't eat

Right now I am trying to find the place in my heart that I will get determined and

Physical Goal #1-Be a Lifetime member with Weight Watchers

I’ve been a chronic re-joiner.
I have joined Weight Watchers six times-yes SIX times since 2002.  I have officially become a chronic re-joiner.  If lost a few pounds then I would believe I had everything under control so I stop going to meetings, and eventually stopped tracking.  Over time I gradually gained the weight back plus a considerable amount more.
What’s Different……I’m Determined
This time I am determined to stick with it until I reach a weight goal that will qualify me to be a Lifetime member with Weight Watchers.  The picture below represents the key chain and charms that I hope to receive as a meet accomplishments  during my journey to lose weight and become a Lifetime Weight Watchers Member.

My Physical goals

On my journey to become more authentic there are many areas that I have a vision to be a better me.  At this point I am focusing on my physical goals. My desire is to loose a considerable amount of weight, I want to go back to being a size 6 and I want to feel better about how I look. My physical goals are more extensive then just looking skinny.  I have broke down my physical goals to seven specific goals that will help me with my larger goal of being in a normal weight range and being in excellent physical condition.

  1. Be a Lifetime member with Weight Watchers
  2. Be a Weight watcher Leader
  3. Be an aerobics instructor
  4. Run a average pace of 10 min per mile
  5. Complete two races
  6. Be 135lbs
  7. Eat Healthy to be healthy

I have made many step on my way to achieving these goals.  I will share those in the coming days and weeks.  I am determined to make a change from the inside out.  I am determined...

Day 14 - A picture of something I could never imagine your life without.

Day 14 - A picture of something I could never imagine your life without.

My bible.  When I need encouragement, I go to my bible.  When I want to read a good story-I read my bible.  When I feel in despair- I open my bible. I carry one in my purse and never leave home without it. I can't imagine my life with it.

Day 13- A picture of my favorite band or artist

Day 13- A picture of my favorite band or artist

My favorite artist is India Aire.  She speaks the truth on so many different levels. Listening to her music always puts in the right mood.

Day 12- A picture of something I love

Day 12- A picture of something I love

I love family. I don’t need to say more about this.

Day 11-A picture of something I hate

Day 11-A picture of something I hate

Do you remember your parents telling you not to use to word hate, but rather to say that you “don’t like or dislike” something.  Hate is such a strong word that signals a strong feeling.  It is defined as “a feeling of extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward” There are plenty of things that I really don’t like: cottage cheese, brussel sprouts, or ferris wheels.  But if I had no choice I would eat these items.  If my son really wanted to ride the ferris wheel I would get on it and duck my head. What I hate and a have a deep detest for is intolerance and hate itself. What I mean by this is people choice not to tolerate those that are different from them or those whose opinions differ from theirs.
I wasn’t sure how to develop a picture for this.

Day 10-A picture of the person I do the most messed up things with

Day 10- A picture of the person I do the most messed up things with.

If I wrote down some of the messed up things we did-that would be messed up. But the person that I have done the most messed up things with is my hubby “Professor X”.

Day 09-A picture of the person who has gotten me through the most.

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten me through the most.

My husband, Professor “X” has gotten me through the most.  In ten years that we have been married.  We have been through two births, one miscarriage, and one baby on the way right now.  We have both worked very hard to complete our Bachelor’s Degree, which we both completed last year.  We have celebrated and cried together.  We have experienced the majority of our adult years together.  He has been there to encourage me and to push me at times when I needed a push.  I am thankful for him, very thankful for him.

Day 08-A picture that makes me laugh

Day 08-A picture that makes me laugh
He makes me laugh.  He makes me feel glad when I'm sad. He is my therapy.

Day 07 - A picture of my most treasured item.

Day 07 - A picture of my most treasured item.

My most cherished item is my wedding ring. Not because of the diamond, though it is beautiful.  But because of the symbol it represents.  It truly is an outward symbol of an inward connection between Professor “X” and myself.  When my husband gave me this ring I was in “Awe” because I had never been given something so nice before.  I will always cherish this item because it represents a strong bond that cannot be duplicated.

Day 6 - A picture of a person I'd love to trade places with for a day.

Day 6 - A picture of a person I'd love to trade places with for a day.

When thinking of this I immediately thought of a more seasoned person whom I respect dearly like my Grandmother.  Or surely there was a celebrity like Oprah or Beyonce that I’d love to trade places with.  Then I thought about a Biblical character that I’d love to trade with people like Mary when she rejoiced over being pregnant with Jesus.  The more and more I thought I really could only genuinely say that I’d like to trade places with my “alter ego” my breakout character that I have been trying to get to come out for awhile now.  I want to trade places with the one of me that is 50lbs lighter and a fashionista.  I’d love to trade places with the person that runs faster than I do, the person the dresses better than I do, weighs 50lbs lighter to me, decorates better, organizes better, and is just all around better at executing than I.

One Day I won’t have to trade places with this “alter ego” because I’ll be this “alter ego”.

Day 5 - A picture of your favorite memory

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.

My favorite memory is of my honeymoon.  Professor “X” and I were married August 10, 2002 in Macon, GA and we left the morning of August 11 to drive Orlando, FL.  We decided to honeymoon at Universal Studio Resorts.  With both my husband and I having already visited Universal Studio’s while we were in high school we wanted to do it differently and really make a true honeymoon at the same time experience the fun of a theme park.  So we booked a full vacation staying at the Royal Pacific Hotel on the Resort’s property.  We ate at the nice full service restaurants on the Resorts properties.  We walked the City Walk late at night.  We went to some clubs were my husband watched me dance (since he doesn’t dance).  We took a few rides on the riverboat.  Of course we rode all the rides at the two parks numerous times.  Since we stayed at a hotel on the resort we were able to go through VIP lanes and didn’t have to wait to get on rides.  We also got preferred seating for shows.  Our hotel room was the BEST!! The best part was being with my new husband and just enjoying him.  I felt like I was on vacation, and we were treated very well.

Now, when I want to escape from the everyday stresses of life I often close my eyes and remember Professor “X” and I on our honeymoon-my favorite memory.

Day 4- A picture of a habit you wish you didn't have...

Day 04 - A picture of a habit you wish you didn’t have....

The habit that I wish I didn’t have is procrastination.  Often I have wonderful ideas for completing a project of getting a task done, but it doesn’t get done to the extent that it could because I procrastinated and waited to late to complete that task to the fullest.  Additionally, while I was a college student I could have received much better grades had I not waited until the night before a paper’s due date to write the paper or a test was imminent to study.
On the upside of this is that I recognize that I procrastinate and I am dealing with this.  Although I still procrastinate on dealing with my bad habit of procrastinating

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from my favorite show.

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from my favorite show.

I have trouble committing to one show that is my favorite show.  So I picked one comedy and one drama
My Favorite comedy is Modern Family.  It is simply one of the best comedies I have watched in years.  I love the melody of different characters on the show.  My favorite is “Cam”.  I love his sensitive-macho personality.  I just love this show and DVR it every Wednesday.

My Favorite drama is Grey’s Anatomy.  Though I am more a fan of the earlier Grey’s Anatomy with George and Izzy and a tougher Bailey I still love this drama.  The things that happen in this show always catch me by surprise.

Day 2-Some one I have been close to for awhile

Day 02 - A picture of me and a person I have been close with for awhile.

This is my friend.  We have known each other since the 11th grade. We don’t talk everyday, not even every week.  But when we do have a chance to speak it is like we just talked yesterday.  When I speak with her I don’t have to explain everything I’m thinking because she already knows.  The time that we have shared together as friends will forever be imprinted on my life.  The memories that we have shared, especially when we were in high school, will forever hold her close in my heart.
